What are BCAAs?  

BCAAs, or Branched-Chain Amino Acids, are amino acids that play an important role in our bodies. Specifically, BCAAs are essential, meaning that our body cannot produce them itself, so they must be obtained from food and/or supplements. Leucine, isoleucine and valine are collectively known as BCAAs.  

It’s important to remember that a BCAA drink, powder or tablet is not a replacement for a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle.  

What should I look for when buying a BCAA drink?  

When choosing a BCAA drink, pay attention to the below factors:  

• High-quality ingredients: choose a BCAA drink made from high-quality and pure ingredients.  
• Correct ratio of BCAAs: check the ratio of leucine, isoleucine and valine in the drink. A ratio of 2:1:1 is generally considered ideal.  

• Additional added ingredients: sometimes BCAA drinks can contain other ingredients, such as vitamins or minerals. Choose a drink that suits your specific needs.
