Ingredients

The pumpkin spice latte is the drink that tells you autumn has arrived. This iced pumpkin spice protein latte keeps everything you love about it: real pumpkin, warm cinnamon and a double shot of espresso, poured over ice. The difference? Instead of a sugary syrup, we sweeten it with Flavour Powder Cinnamon Roll and add Perfection Whey Vanilla for around 25g of protein per glass.

You only need a milk frother or a shaker and 3 minutes. Enjoy it as a post-workout treat, a mid-morning pick-me-up or a cosy weekend coffee. Because a seasonal favourite & your goals can go hand in hand.

HOW TO MAKE AN ICED PUMPKIN SPICE LATTE AT HOME

  1. Brew a double espresso and let it cool for a minute, or use cold brew if you have it.
  2. Add the almond milk, pumpkin puree, Perfection Whey Vanilla and a scoop of Flavour Powder Cinnamon Roll to a milk frother or shaker.
  3. Froth or shake until the mixture is smooth, creamy and lump-free.
  4. Fill a tall glass with ice and pour the pumpkin protein milk over it.
  5. Slowly pour the espresso on top for a layered look.
  6. Finish with a pinch of cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice, stir and enjoy straight away.

WHAT IS IN A PUMPKIN SPICE LATTE?

A classic pumpkin spice latte combines espresso, milk and a mix of warm spices: cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and cloves. Coffee shop versions usually get their sweetness from a pumpkin spice syrup, which adds sugar to every cup.

In this homemade version, Flavour Powder Cinnamon Roll does the sweetening. One 4g scoop gives a full, sweet cinnamon taste for less than 12 kcal, sweetened with sucralose and stevia. The pumpkin puree adds a soft, earthy flavour and a creamy texture, and Perfection Whey turns your coffee into a protein drink. Protein contributes to the growth and maintenance of muscle mass.

TIPS FOR THE PERFECT ICED PUMPKIN LATTE

  • Use cold milk. Whey froths best when the liquid is cold, and it keeps the ice from melting too fast.
  • Froth the protein into the milk first, then add the espresso. Hot coffee poured directly onto protein powder can make it clump.
  • Stir before every few sips. The Cinnamon Roll flavour contains small hazelnut pieces, which add a little bite and settle at the bottom.
  • Prefer a completely smooth latte? Try Flavour Powder Milk Chocolate for a chocolate pumpkin twist.

PUMPKIN SPICE LATTE VARIATIONS

Hot latte

Froth the protein milk cold, then warm it gently in a pan without letting it boil. Pour the espresso in first and top with the warm milk.

Decaf

Enjoying it in the evening? Use a decaf double espresso. The pumpkin and cinnamon taste stays exactly the same.

Extra spice

Add a pinch of ground ginger, nutmeg and cloves to the milk for a stronger pumpkin pie flavour.

FAQ

How much protein is in this pumpkin spice latte?

One glass contains around 25g of protein. The exact amount depends on the milk you use.

What does a pumpkin spice latte taste like?

It tastes like a creamy latte with warm cinnamon and baking spices, a bit like pumpkin pie in a glass. The pumpkin itself is mild and mainly adds body and a soft sweetness.

Can I make it without a milk frother?

Yes. Shake the milk, pumpkin puree, whey and Flavour Powder in a protein shaker for about 20 seconds. It will be slightly less foamy but just as tasty.

Can I use a different protein powder?

Yes. A vanilla whey works best because it blends smoothly with coffee. Browse all protein powders to find your favourite.

How much caffeine is in it?

A double espresso usually contains around 100 to 150mg of caffeine. Want to know how coffee compares with other drinks before training? Read pre-workout vs coffee vs energy drink.
