October 28 2026

The same bowl of yoghurt and a handful of muesli every morning? Then you know how quickly a healthy breakfast gets boring. A yogurt bowl fixes that: one base of Greek yogurt, skyr or quark, and a different flavour and different toppings every day. In this blog you'll learn how to build a high protein yogurt bowl, which base to choose, and you'll find 6 yogurt bowl ideas with Perfection Whey, Flavour Powder and Choco Drops. So every day of the week starts with something to look forward to.

The yogurt bowl formula

Base200 to 250g Greek yogurt, skyr or quark
Extra protein½ scoop Perfection Whey (approx. 17g)
Flavour1 scoop Flavour Powder (4g)
ToppingsFruit, something crunchy and Choco Drops

What is a yogurt bowl?

A yogurt bowl is a bowl of yogurt, skyr or quark finished with toppings such as fresh fruit, granola, nuts and seeds. The difference from a regular pot of yogurt is the build: you choose a base, a flavour and a few toppings that work well together in texture and nutrition. That makes a yogurt bowl not only better looking, but also more nutritious and more filling. Think of it as the breakfast version of a poke bowl: one formula, endless variations.

How to make a yogurt bowl: build the base

Follow these four steps for a high protein yogurt bowl in five minutes:

  1. Choose your base: spoon 200 to 250g of Greek yogurt, skyr or quark into a bowl.
  2. Add flavour and protein: stir in ½ scoop of Perfection Whey and/or a scoop of Flavour Powder. Too thick? Add a splash of milk.
  3. Choose your fruit: a handful of fresh or defrosted fruit, such as berries, banana or mango.
  4. Finish with crunch: granola, nuts and seeds and a few Choco Drops.

Prefer no extra sweetness? Go for Perfection Whey Natural. It boosts the protein without changing the taste of your bowl, so you can sweeten it your way with fruit or a little honey.

Want your bowl to keep you full for longer? Stir 20g of Ultra Fine Oats into your base. These finely milled oats mix easily into yogurt or quark and add body and extra carbs, handy for an active morning.

Greek yogurt, skyr or quark: which base should you choose?

The base decides how much protein your bowl contains and how creamy it gets. A skyr or quark bowl contains around two to three times as much protein as a bowl made with regular yogurt.

Base Protein per 100g (approx.) Texture
Fat-free quark 11 to 13g Thick and creamy
Skyr 10 to 11g Thick, slightly tangy
Greek yogurt (0%) 9 to 10g Creamy and firm
Whole natural yogurt 3 to 4g Light and smooth

Using regular yogurt? Then ½ scoop of Perfection Whey makes the difference, adding around 13g of protein. Protein contributes to the growth and maintenance of muscle mass.

6 yogurt bowl ideas for every day

Every bowl starts with the same base of 200g skyr, quark or Greek yogurt. Then you switch up the flavour and toppings, so every day starts differently. The macros are an estimate per bowl, calculated with 200g of skyr as the base. The label on each bowl shows which goal it fits best: lose weight, build muscle, improve endurance or stay healthy.

Yogurt bowl toppings

The best yogurt bowl combines something fresh, something crunchy and something sweet. Use these three categories as your starting point:

🍓
Fruit

Berries, banana, mango, kiwi or apple. Frozen fruit works too: just let it defrost for a bit.

🥣
Crunch

Granola, nuts and seeds. Add granola and you have a granola bowl.

🍫
Something extra

Choco Drops, peanut butter, coconut flakes or a pinch of cinnamon.

Prefer something you can prep the night before? Try our high protein chia seed pudding with mango. Like making your own granola? Follow our homemade granola recipe. Choco Drops contain 0% added sugar and less than 50 kcal per 10g, and come in dark, milk and white chocolate.

Is a yogurt bowl healthy?

A yogurt bowl can be a nutritious breakfast, but it depends on what you put in it. With skyr or quark as your base and fresh fruit on top, you have a breakfast that is rich in protein. Keep an eye on portions though: granola, nuts and peanut butter are delicious, but they are also high in calories. A handful (around 30g) is usually enough.

With Flavour Powder you give your bowl a sweet taste for less than 12 kcal per scoop, sweetened with sucralose and stevia. Perfection Whey provides up to 26g of protein per 35g scoop, with 0% added sugar. Find more ideas for a high protein start in our guide to breakfast protein.

FAQ about yogurt bowls

How much Greek yogurt should you have for breakfast?

For breakfast, 200 to 250g of Greek yogurt, skyr or quark is a good portion. For a smaller snack, go for around 150g.

Can you mix protein powder into yogurt?

Yes. Stir ½ scoop of Perfection Whey well into your base. If it gets too thick, add a splash of milk. A full scoop works too, but you'll usually need a bit more milk.

What is the difference between a yogurt bowl and a quark bowl?

Only the base. A quark bowl is thicker and contains more protein than a bowl made with regular yogurt. The toppings and combinations stay the same.

Can you make a yogurt bowl the night before?

The base, yes: mix your yogurt or quark with Perfection Whey or Flavour Powder in the evening and keep it covered in the fridge. You can stir in Ultra Fine Oats at the same time. Add the granola and nuts in the morning so they stay crunchy.

Which Flavour Powder works best with yogurt?

That depends on your toppings. Raspberry Yoghurt and Strawberry go well with red fruit, Salted Caramel and Milk Chocolate with banana and peanut butter, and White Chocolate Coconut with tropical fruit. There are 9 flavours, so you can try something different every day.
