What makes this bar different from most protein bars is that the protein content doesn't come at the expense of everything else. Up to 10 grams of fibre per bar is exceptional, and it comes from chicory root fibre: a natural, soluble fibre from the root of the chicory plant. What makes chicory fibre special is that it isn't digested in the small intestine, but arrives undigested in the large intestine, where it serves as food for the bacteria that live there. That makes it a smarter fibre than the regular fibre found in most bars, and it also contributes to the soft, creamy texture. The protein comes from three sources: milk protein, collagen hydrolysate and pea protein isolate, which together provide a high protein content without making the bar dry or chewy. The sweetness comes from stevia and natural flavourings: fitting for a bar that relies on natural ingredients from start to finish.
