Dextrose is a monosaccharide sugar and is referred to as the sugar normally found circulating in the human body. Identical to glucose, dextrose is popular with athletes who like to mix their own sports drinks and protein and weight gainer shakes. Make sure your carbohydrate intake is 4g of carbohydrate per kg of your body weight during the four to six hours after exercise to benefit from the recovery of normal muscle function.
